What Should Operators Do Regarding Training?

There are many reasons an operator may find itself involved in training. Often, an operator will arrange to provide training simply to improve the knowledge and skills of its workforce. Sometimes training is provided to the contractor's workforce. Many times, there is a regulatory requirement for certain types of training (such as OSHA-related training). Sometimes training is provided to communicate changes in products, systems, or processes.

Whatever the need, and whoever the audience, operators must train people - and this will include training program development, training administration and documentation of training.

How Can Veriforce Help?

Veriforce can:

What Does Veriforce Do?

Veriforce helps clients design, conduct, and document training. Today, we offer a number of training options including; regulatory training, training development and distribution and customized training.

OQ Training

Veriforce maintains a web-based Evaluator Training Program. To maintain status as an authorized evaluator, an individual must successfully complete the evaluator training program each year.

Veriforce has developed training materials to support the "Common Covered Task List", which has been adopted by dozens of operators throughout the country. A training guide has been developed for each of these covered tasks. They are designed to support "structured" on-the-job training and are made available to all contractors and operators with access to VeriSource. They are made available at no cost. They are provided to help meet training requirements associated with the OQ Rule.

Regulatory Training

In many cases, training is provided to meet state and/or Federal regulatory requirements. Veriforce has helped operator clients design and deploy safety training programs designed for contractor personnel. Veriforce has also designed and deployed environmental-related training programs for contractor personnel. Additionally, we have developed training to help field personnel prepare for regulatory inspections.

Whether it's providing help in designing a course, or whether a client wants the course hosted as a web-based training program, Veriforce can help. We have built web-based testing applications that measure the trainee's retention and records testing results directly within VeriSource.

Development and Distribution

With an aging workforce, with the rate of change in technological advances, and with economic pressures requiring more of people every day, the ability to provide effective technical training in a cost-effective manner is becoming more and more important. Effective, responsive technical training is critical in remaining competitive.

Veriforce is in a unique position to help facilitate technical training for its clients. Working directly with pipeline operators in the industry allows Veriforce to leverage the resources of many within the industry to design and deliver training while creating economies of scale.

Customized Training

Whether the need is large or small, local or national, simple or complex, Veriforce can help design customized training to improve processes and communicate the how's, where's, and why's associated with business systems. Training should help solve problems - Veriforce understands that and helps create solutions through training.

PHMSA Control Room Management (CRM) Training

Veriforce offers Fatigue Awareness online training for controllers and supervisors. The online modules are now available for use through the Veriforce database system (VeriSource). Fatigue awareness modules include:

- Fatigue Mitigation Awareness Training modules (one for controllers and one for their
supervisors).
- Downloadable family take home pamphlets.
- Downloadable fatigue safety board posters.

Learning Management System (LMS)

VeriSource is an important tool in managing and reporting data; data related to OQ, drug and alcohol testing, health and safety statistics, and training.

Learning Management System gives you the ability to document training, report training records, keep track of re-training dates/requirements, and remind system users of upcoming training requirements. Veriforce has worked hard to ensure that the LMS features within VeriSource serve as a powerful tool in the important job of managing an effective training program.

Hosted Training Services

Veriforce can manage all your SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) revisions and safety alerts quickly and efficiently. With our Management of Change service you can communicate the required information directly to specific employees and provide any training and tracking required by the change.

Management of Change services can be used to notify employees regarding SOP changes based on region, company division or even work site.  With built-in training and feedback options, you can now be sure that the employees who need to know have received and understood the change.

Safety Alert services can be included in your Hosted Training and Testing service option so any safety alerts will be sent to your employees directly from Veriforce.
