Veriforce Offers New Designated Employer Representative (DER) Training Program for Drug and Alcohol Testing

HOUSTON, TEXAS (November 15, 2011) - Veriforce, a leader in providing regulatory compliance and contractor management solutions for oil & gas operators, now offers Designated Employer Representative (DER) Training for Drug and Alcohol Testing.

"The New Designated Employer Representatives (DERs) Training Program is designed to educate company DERs with the knowledge they require to perform their duties effectively as outlined by the Department of Transportation’s (DOTs) regulations for drug and alcohol testing (49 CFR Part 40), said President of Veriforce, Louie Werderich."

“Our main objective is to ensure students leave the course with a clear understanding of what is required of them to perform their role as a DER and meet the DOT requirements and regulations.

This training enables the DER to:

• Fully understand the role of the DER in the drug testing process
• Define issues that arise during the drug testing process and what action is required of DERs
• Learn more about the DER’s relationship with other players in the testing process, including C/TPAs collectors, MROs, EAPs, laboratory personnel, and SAPs
• Ensure complete compliance with federal rules and regulations to better serve the employees they work with by being knowledgeable about the entire mandated drug and alcohol testing process
• Learn the differences in testing procedures for each transportation mode
• Better define his/her role in assuring DOT and company policy compliance
• Provide services meeting standards of professionalism, accountability, ethical behavior; and implement practical application of industry standards and procedures”
  
  “Designated Employer Representative (DER) Training classes will be held at the Veriforce office in Shenandoah, Texas. Trainees will have the opportunity to meet Veriforce personnel and ask questions pertinent to their companies. “
  
  “The charge is $375 per person. Once the DER has completed the course they will have the opportunity to take an exam to become a certified DER through DATIA (Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association). The DATIA certification exam and all applicable training material are included in the price of the course. “
